The post, dated back to January 2025, revealed that at first she thought she had a slipped disc. However, it kept getting worse and on Thanksgiving Eve, she was sent for an emergency MRI. She stated:
“In September, I moved into a new apartment with my boyfriend, Logan. For a month after that, I had persistent lower back pain and thought I slipped a disc. A few weeks later, I had neuropathic itching in my right quad. And then, the shooting pains in my legs and back began, which resulted in me having to sleep in a recliner for a month because lying down was too painful. On Thanksgiving Eve, I had emergency MRIs done at the hospital, which revealed an abnormal mass in my spinal cord.”
Kelley Mack further shared how, a few months later, she was diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma, which was a rare type of astrocytoma. She revealed how she lost the use of her right leg and most of her left leg due to the biopsy that was done on her spinal cord, and how she needs a walker and a wheelchair. The actress in the post had also expressed her gratitude towards her family and her boyfriend, Logan. She stated:
“I am very grateful to have such a supportive and loving family and boyfriend, who have been with me every second of this process. It has been a very emotional and challenging time, truly testing my mental fortitude, faith, and physical strength.”
