    DGCA suspends Akasa pilot for 6 months over lapses | India News – Times of India

    NEW DELHI: The directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) has suspended a designated examiner (DE) of Akasa for six months following violation of rules in a pilot skill test. The airline says it had voluntarily reported this violation to the regulator. An Akasa Air spokesperson said: “Keeping safety in mind is of utmost priority at Akasa. Each designated examiner (DE) and every other employee of the company upholds this standard in its highest form, at all times. The primary objective of any DE at Akasa is to ensure that all trainings and assessments are professional, and meet prescribed regulatory and safety standards without any fear of passing unsatisfactory candidates.The DGCA order dated July 29 says: “Suspension of DE approval of (the pilot) is hereby ordered for a period of six months, effective from the date of this order,” the order dated July 29, 2025, reads.
