The Jesus Lizard have cancelled the remaining dates on their 2025 tour in support of their new album, Rack. In a statement shared to their social media, the post-hardcore band cited “a serious health incident” that has affected an unnamed band member. Their tour originally included performances in the United States, Japan, and Australia, all of which have now been scrapped. No replacement dates are planned at this time.

“Upon the advice of medical professionals following a serious health incident affecting one of the band members, it is considered necessary as a precautionary measure,” the Jesus Lizard’s statement reads. “The band would like to convey their apologies to disappointed fans and emphasize that the affected member’s prognosis is excellent. Your understanding and support are very much appreciated as always.”

Rack was the Jesus Lizard’s first new album in 26 years, following 1998’s Blue. Their seventh studio LP came about after the band decided “it would be fun” to write a new record. They recorded Rack with producer Paul Allen at Nashville’s Audio Eagle Studio. After breaking up in 2000, the Jesus Lizard reunited in 2008 to play a brief tour, including a set at Pitchfork Music Festival the following year. They once again reformed in 2017 for another tour, and have played a handful of shows since then sporadically.
