Nick Cave and Warren Ellis will score the forthcoming TV adaptation of Cave’s book The Death of Bunny Munro. Matt Smith produces and stars in the new, six-part Sky Original series, which comes to streaming later this year. No air date has been announced, but a preview, with two episode screenings and a conversation with Cave and Smith, will take place during the London Literature Festival at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on October 30.
Smith—the star of House of the Dragon, Doctor Who, and The Crown—plays the titular role of a door-to-door salesman who goes on a debauched road trip with his young son while dealing with both sex addiction and his wife’s suicide. Writer Pete Jackson adapted the book, with Isabella Eklöf directing.
Cave and Ellis recorded the score in London with go-to engineer Luis Almau. Their recent work includes last year’s Amy Winehouse biopic score and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds album Wild God.
