    Malayalam Actor, Shanawas Prem Nazir passed away after a long health battle. He had worked in over 50 films and was a significant member of the film industry.     Shanawas was the son of the evergreen superstar, Prem Nazir. The actor passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 70. According to reports, he was undergoing treatment for the past four years for kidney and heart ailments. Unfortunately, his health worsened on the night of August 4, 2025, and he had to be admitted to the hospital. He was taken to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, and despite the best treatment, he passed away around 11:50 pm.

    Shanawas’ funeral will be held on August 5, 2025

    Shahnawas’ funeral will be held today, that is, August 5, 2025, at the Palayam Muslim Jamaath Cemetery. According to reports, the last rites will take place at 5 pm in the presence of his family and loved ones. The heartbreaking news has left the actor’s family absolutely shattered. Shanawas is survived by his wife, Ayesha Abdul Aziz, their sons, Ajith Khan and Shameer Khan, and daughter-in-law, Hana. He was residing at Cordon Trinity 2B in Vazhuthacaud.

    Shanawas was born in Thiruvananthapuram to actor, Prem Nazir and Habeeba Beevi. He had three sisters and shared a close bond with his parents growing up. Shanawas completed his early education at Chirayinkeezhu English Medium School, Montfort School, and Yercaud and later applied for a master’s degree in English Literature from New College, Chennai. However, he soon found his love for cinema and decided to follow in his father’s footsteps.

    Shanawas made his big acting debut in 1981 with Balachandra Menon’s Premageethangal. Over the years, the actor has appeared in several notable films, such as Mazhanilavu, Eeyugam, Maniyara, Neelagiri, Garbhashreemaan, and Zachariyayude Garbhinikal. He appeared in over 50 films in both Malayalam and Tamil, and even dabbled in television dramas with shows like Shankupushpam, Ammathottil, Kadamattathu Kathanar and Summer in America. After taking a brief break from the film industry, Shanawas made his grand comeback in 2011 with China Town. His final film appearance was in the Prithviraj-starrer Jana Gana Mana
