Earlier this year, filmmaker Keith Gomes’ Himesh Reshammiya starrer Badass Ravi Kumar succeeded in getting the audience in splits with its over-the-top and whacky humour. The film, which was also produced by Himesh, has acquired a cult status, especially for its dialogues penned by Bunty Rathore.

Naturally, there has been a massive demand for the film to release on OTT. However, that hasn’t happened despite it being almost five months since the film premiered in theatres.
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Gomes was asked about this. He said, “I am just a director and Himesh’s friend. That’s a question for the producer because he knows the best. I have not even asked him this question. I trust his decision. He knows the business better than anybody else. But, like you, I have also read in the newspaper article that there has been a conversation about IP and stuff like that. So, I think those negotiations are going on.”
Gomes is aware about the massive demand for Badass Ravi Kumar on OTT. “I know for a fact that every OTT wants to pick up this film because the whole country wants to watch this film,” he said. “So, that’s a question only Himesh can answer. He is the producer; it’s his baby. Whatever decision he makes, I just back him on it. He has lived this film.”
Badass Ravi Kumar was the spiritual sequel to The Xpose (2014). The makers will be coming up with the next film in the series which will be like a sequel to Badass Ravi Kumar. When asked about that film, Gomes said, “It’s going to be bigger and badder. That’s how Himesh is putting it.” Sharing its current status, he said, “That’s all for Himesh to put it all together. I think they are finalizing the script right now.”
Apart from that film, Keith Gomes also has two films lined up. “Both are very big commercial scripts or films,” he said. “I have been talking to a star. I have pulled off a Badass, which everyone has loved. So, hopefully it happens and gets announced as soon as possible.”
