Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back.
On Saturday morning, Sony posted a video of Tom Holland warming up and then walking up to the camera in his new Spider-Man costume, saying, “We ready?” A teaser of the costume was posted on Friday.
This time around, the new suit shows a larger spider on his chest than his previous costumes in the films Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home and No Way Home. It’s also worth noting that the Spidey suit looks more similar to Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s suits in their respective Spider-Man films.
Also on Saturday, from videos that were posted online, Holland’s fourth-led film as the superhero has begun filming in England. In 2021’s No Way Home, viewers saw Spider-Man’s real identity as Peter Parker was erased from people’s memory, so now even his girlfriend, M.J. Watson-Jones (Zendaya) and best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) don’t remember him.
Returning for the epic upcoming entry is Jon Bernthal, who will be reprising his role as the vigilante known as the Punisher/Frank Castle. It also marks the first time Bernthal’s iteration of the character will appear on the big screen. On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Mark Ruffalo is returning as the Hulk/Bruce Banner. Michael Mando is also returning to reprise the role of the Scorpion, who first appeared in 2017’s Homecoming.
Directing the film is Destin Daniel Cretton and have Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers (No Way Home) writing the script.
Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31, 2026.
