The demise of Malayalam actor, Kalabhavan Navas, who was also a mimicry artist, has sent shockwaves to the entire film fraternity. It was on August 1, 2025, when the talented star was found dead in a hotel located in Chottanikkara. The 51-year-old was there shooting for a movie, and the cast and crew had wrapped up the shoot and checked out of the hotel. When the hotel staff saw that Kalabhavan had not returned the key for a long time, they found something was wrong. He was found dead in his hotel room. Now, amid this, a recent appreciation post for his wife, Rahna, surfaced on social media.

A look at Kalabhavan’s Instagram handle will showcase that a week before his demise, he had shared about the recognition his wife, Rahna, received as an actress. He shared a poster of Rahna and in his caption appreciated her work achievement. It looks like she had won an award for her work in the cinema industry, as Kalabhavan’s post, loosely translated into English. It read:
“Thank God. Happy moments. Another recognition added to the family. In the 16th JC Daniel Award. Very happy to share that Rahna (Priyathama) was selected as the second best actress. For the loved ones who stayed with me… One thousand.. Thank you. With love Rahna & Nawaz.”

Sadly, Kalabhavan was found in an unconscious state inside his hotel room located in Chottanikara, Ernakulam, Kochi. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. According to an India Today report, the primary cause of his demise has been cardiac arrest. From his fans, co-workers from the regional entertainment industry, to his wife, the shock of the star’s passing away has left a void in the hearts of all. Now, an old interview of Rahna has gone viral, where she revealed how the actor had been an optimistic person. She said:
“He is a man with positive energy and never gets angry. Even if someone turns against him or accuses him of anything, he will accept it without bothering to debate. He craves a peaceful environment. Navas Ikka is the greatest blessing in my life.”

Kalabhavan had reached his hotel room in the evening after completing the shooting of his film, Prakambanam. When the hotel staff realised that the late actor had not come out of the room for a long time, they checked on the actor. It was on August 2, 2025, when the funeral of the star took place after the public was allowed to view the body at the Aluva Juma Masjid. The post-mortem of Kalabhavan was conducted at Kalamassery Medical College, and the body was then taken to the residence of the actor in Aluva. The late actor resided in a lodge located in Chottanikkara since July 25, 2025, for the shooting of a film. After it was wrapped up, Navas had told his colleagues that he would get back home as he had a two-day break. He passed away sadly in room number 209 of the hotel.
