For the unversed, Ashish was previously married to Piloo and got separated after 22 years of marriage. In a recent interview, Ashish’s ex-wife, Piloo, addressed why she still uses the surname of the actor.

Ashish Vidyarthi’s ex-wife, Piloo, recently sat for an interview with News18 Showsha. Back in 2023, when Ashish’s second innings made headlines, it was Piloo who remained silent. It’s been two years since Piloo didn’t say a word about Ashish’s second marriage to Rupali. Taking a look at her Instagram handle, it can be said that Piloo still uses the surname ‘Vidyarthi’ with pride. In the interview, she shared that in the Indian system, altering a name or surname is a complicated process, but if a person gets married, it makes the process easy. Piloo expressed that she also didn’t find a powerful reason to change her surname. She was quoted as saying:
“The Indian system is complicated. There are so many things you need to consider before altering your name or surname. I am still struggling to change my address on my Aadhar card. If you marry again, the surname change becomes easier. I don’t find a powerful reason to change it.”

In the same interview, Piloo shared that a name carries a history and, unless there is a strong reason, it doesn’t need to be altered. She also revealed that neither she nor her ex-husband, Ashish, had any problem with the usage of the surname ‘Vidyarthi’. Piloo also mentioned that Ashish’s present wife also doesn’t have any issue with the same. In her words:
“Neither Ashish has a problem with it nor I. Actually, what do I have to prove my changing my surname? It has worked for me. Rupali is now writing Barua. I write Vidyarthi and she never has any issue with it. She is also a very simple person.”

Further in the interview, Piloo was asked whether she had moved on from her past relationship on her own. In response, Piloo shared that yes, she had. She also spoke about whether she is open to love and has any plans for remarriage. She expressed that nothing has really changed after her separation, but there are some things that she doesn’t have in present. In her words:
“Yes, I have. I don’t feel a lack of anything. I don’t miss any luxury. But sure, there are small things, like not having a partner. I’m open to love if at all, but not remarriage at this point in time.”
