Police have confirmed multiple fatalities following a shooting at The Owl Bar in Anaconda on Thursday. The suspect, 45-year-old resident Michael Brown, remains at large and is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Authorities say Michael Brown fled the scene in a 2007 white Ford F-150 pickup truck with Montana license plate DTY493. The vehicle was last seen heading west of Anaconda on Stumptown Road, prompting a heavy police presence in that area, particularly near Anderson Ranch Loop Road.
Brown is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. At the time of the shooting, he was reportedly wearing a tie-dyed shirt, blue jeans, and an orange bandana.
A SWAT team searched Michael Brown’s home in Anaconda, but he was not found, according to a statement from the Granite County Sheriff’s Office. Brown remains on the run.
Authorities are urging citizens to be vigilant and stay away from areas where law enforcement is active. Anyone who spots Brown or his vehicle can contact law enforcement immediately. Tips can be reported to Anaconda-Deer Lodge County officials at (406) 563-5241.
The Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement and Granite County sheriffs are also part of the manhunt. Officers are also posted near Georgetown Lake and Flint Creek areas. Although there is no reported threat within Granite County, deputies are on high alert.
According to UpNorthLive, the Montana Highway Patrol also released a public safety advisory, cautioning residents to avoid the west Anaconda.
While the investigation is ongoing, local agencies are working together to find and arrest Brown.
