A small plane crashed Friday afternoon near Maplewood Park in Rochester, New York, coming down at the intersection of Maplewood Drive and Bridge View Drive, just north of State Route 104.

The crash took place around 1:30 pm, with the aircraft coming to rest on the roadway. Video footage from the scene showed the wreckage on Bridge View Drive as emergency crews responded swiftly to the incident.

According to Captain Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department, one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries. However, there are unconfirmed reports suggesting that one of the two occupants may have died and is still trapped in the wreckage.

Authorities have closed off the area to traffic as cleanup and a joint investigation with federal agencies continue. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
