Joining the Housefull franchise marked a new experience for Chitrangda Singh, as it introduced her to the world of broad comedy—something she hadn’t tried before.

Chitrangda Singh on finding rhythm in her first comedy; says, “It was liberating to let go and enjoy the madness”

She said, “I was nervous, honestly. Everyone else had already tuned into the rhythm, and I was finding my feet.” The pressure was real to match timing with seasoned performers, to play it big without going over-the-top, and to settle into a space she hadn’t occupied as an actor before. But she surprised herself. “Once I caught the rhythm, I was having the time of my life,” she said. It was more than just jokes it was about energy, pacing, and group chemistry. And then came the action.

She further added, “Yes, Housefull 5 also marked her first brush with stunt sequences. “No rehearsals just right into it on set. I was punching, kicking, and getting knocked around. I felt like a kid.” For an actor more often seen in dramatic or romantic avatars, this chaotic, playful version of Chitrangda offered something new to audiences too.

It proved her range and reminded us that she’s not afraid to push out of her comfort zone. She said, “Honestly, it was liberating. I had to let go of control and just enjoy the madness.” And she did on-screen and off.
