Today on World Cafe, it’s good to welcome Meg Remy and her band, U.S. Girls, back to the show for a live performance.
Last time she stopped by the show in 2020, she spoke to Raina Douris about having upwards of 20 people on her album Heavy Light. A “more is more” concept, so to speak. Her latest album, Scratch It, feels like a covert mission in comparison.
A few years back, Remy recalls playing a show in Hot Springs, Ark., with some of Nashville’s best players, including harmonica wiz Charlie McCoy. The live gig went so well that they went into the studio and, in less than two weeks, they came out with Scratch It.
