German social media influencer, Younes Zarou, was detained by Bangalore police on August 31, 2025, evening for a huge public gathering on Church Street, Bangalore. Prior to his visit, Younes announced on his Instagram handle that he is coming to Church Street. However, the creator was later released. The reason behind Younes’ detainment was that he didn’t take permission for the public gathering. According to multiple reports, the Cubbon Park police intervened and escorted Younes when a huge crowd gathered, as it requires official permission for a public gathering in high-footfall areas. After the incident, the influencer and content creator took to his Instagram handle and wrote:
“I am survived and I am fine. Bengaluru is not for beginners. Thanks to the police chief, without him I think I would be somewhere else now.”
