On July 30, the Rang De Basanti actor took to Instagram to reveal a wellness ritual that might make some flinch: chewing raw garlic first thing in the morning. But she’s not just following a trend — she’s tapping into time-tested wisdom.

    “So for the past four weeks I have been starting my mornings with a little bite — of raw garlic,” she shared in a candid video, chewing thoughtfully on camera before chasing it down with water.

    Soha explains that she takes one raw clove of garlic on an empty stomach to boost immunity, improve gut health, fight inflammation, and restore overall balance. By chewing it for as long as possible, she aims to activate allicin — the compound responsible for garlic’s potent benefits.

    “It’s not for everyone — if you’re on blood thinners, have tummy sensitivity, or planning surgery, always check with your doc first,” she cautions, adding a cheeky disclaimer about garlic breath and a healthy dose of mouthwash afterward. She also offers a gentler method for those not ready to take the plunge: crush the clove and let it rest for 10 minutes before swallowing with water.

    Ash Gourd Juice: Another Gut-Friendly Habit

    Just a week prior, Soha shared another glimpse into her morning routine — this time, a glass of white pumpkin juice, also known as ash gourd juice. “I have been drinking white pumpkin juice every morning on an empty stomach, for the past three months,” she revealed, highlighting its cooling, detoxifying, and gut-healthy properties.

    However, she emphasizes caution: one must always taste a small piece before juicing — if it tastes bitter, spit it out and discard the entire gourd. Only fresh, ripe, and non-bitter gourds from trusted sources should be used.
