Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have amassed immense popularity after their debut with Yash Raj Film’s Saiyaara. Though both of them are newcomers, Ahaan isn’t a stranger to Bollywood. He is the nephew of Chunky Panday and hence, cousin of Ananya Panday. Apart from this, many people also remember him as a TikTok influencer. Mohit Suri, the director of Saiyaara, opened up about this side of Ahaan and revealed that the actor pulled down those old videos of his after making a debut with YRF.
Mohit Suri says that Ahaan Panday is a ‘cringe TikToker’
Mohit Suri, in an interview with Komal Nahta, revealed that both of the Saiyaara stars, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, have unseen sides which aren’t known by a lot of people. The director, said that Ahaan is a ‘full chh***i TikToker’. He also mentioned that the newcomer had pulled down a lot of his past videos that were supposedly ‘cringe’. But the audience did not get to see this side of Ahaan because it wasn’t needed in Saiyaara, said the director.
Mohit Suri also revealed that Aneet Padda, on the other hand, has a very comical side to her. The director shared that Aneet had called him and mimicked how her mother scolded her for wearing a mask in public. Mohit stated that he couldn’t stop laughing on the video call when she was enacting her mother. In the interview, Mohit was quoted as saying:
“You haven’t seen the videos that he pulled down. The boy is a full chh***i TikToker. He’s a full, out-there, Gaiety Galaxy boy. But audiences didn’t see that side to him because it wasn’t required in Saiyaara. Aneet has a comic side to her. She called me and mimicked her mother scolding her for wearing a mask in public the other day. I couldn’t stop laughing on video call.”
Mohit Suri praised Ahaan Panday
Mohit Suri has worked with many Bollywood stars when they were newcomers in the industry, such as Emraan Hashmi, Shraddha Kapoor, and Aditya Roy Kapur. However, the director said that the Saiyaara debutants were better than any other newcomers he had worked with. Mohit also praised Ahaan, saying the actor has another side to him where he can dance like a ‘gallery man’. The director said:
“I haven’t even tapped into the other dimensions they have. I remember, on the 30th day of shoot, Ahaan Panday asks my creative producer, ‘What did I do in my audition that made you cast me? I was told that I am the right one for the role!’ He has this whole other side to him where he dances like a gallery man. He can dance for front-benchers.”
