Amidst it, late Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, Priya Sachdev, received major backlash for changing her name on IG and ‘adding’ her husband’s name to her middle name. But she got it changed and went private.

After receiving major backlash, Priya, who had added ‘Sunjay’ to her middle name on Instagram, re-changed it. Her name, which was changed to ‘Priya Sunjay Kapur’, is back to ‘Priya Sachdev Kapur’. Within no time, she even turned her very-public Instagram account private.

Priya Sachdev, who is appointed as a non-executive director of Sona Comstar, made headlines when she changed her Instagram name from ‘Priya Sachdev Kapur’ to ‘Priya Sunjay Kapur’. Not only this, her Instagram bio had her boardroom title. The changed bio and name hinted at the ongoing inheritance issues and corporate control. Not only this, Priya’s daughter from her previous marriage, Safira Chatwal, also removed her surname from her Instagram handle.
When Sunjay Kapur’s mother’s made explosive claims of living off on mercy after son’s death
It is worth mentioning that Rani Kapur, the mother of late Sunjay Kapur, sent a letter to the board of Sona Comstar. She allegedly claimed that her son’s death in London was highly suspicious and unexplained. Despite her repeated requests and attempts to access the documents, she is not being provided with the right answers. Rani Kapur further went on to say that she has not given her consent to anyone to be appointed as a member of the board of directors of her son’s firm. Another explosive revelation was that she is living on mercy after her son’s demise, and her access to all her accounts has been denied.
Later, in an interview with ANI, Rani Kapur added that she has no idea what happened to her son. She stated that she remembers the start of the family business, and she won’t let it get lost, but will pass it on rightfully. She shared:
“I still don’t know what happened to my son. I am old now and need closure before I go. I may be old and frail now, but my memory of being with my husband when Sona (Sona Comstar) was set up is strong. I remember the early days of Sona (Sona Comstar), built with care, sacrifice and love. I am here to remind the world that our family legacy must not be lost. It must be passed on as my husband always wanted to be.”
