Miley Cyrus can’t quit Hannah Montana. The singer who rose to fame playing the teen who secretly moonlighted as pop star Montana on the show that debuted on the Disney Channel on March 24, 2006, told SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio recently that she’s working on something “really, really special” to commemorate the series’ 20th anniversary.

“I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today,” Cyrus said to host Chris Olsen about the show’s March 2026 anniversary. “Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me. It’s so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed. And now that’s something that when I walk into a space, it’s looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I’ve now been as kind of integrated into everyone’s life as the character itself. So that’s exciting to get to celebrate that.”

Cyrus stepped into the role at age 13 and played Montana over four seasons from 2006-2011 in the teen sitcom that also featured her dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus portraying her father, Robby Ray. In addition to the series, Cyrus appeared as both herself and Montana in the 2008 concert movie Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.

The popular sitcom also spawned the 2006 album Hannah Montana, as well as 2007’s Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, 2009’s Hannah Montana 3 and 2010’s Hannah Montana Forever, as well as the Billboard Hot 100 hit singles “He Could Be the One,” (No. 10), “Life’s What You Make It” (No. 25), “Nobody’s Perfect” (No. 27) and “Let’s Get Crazy” (No. 57).

At press time no additional information was available on the plans for the Montana anniversary celebration.
