Disney’s much awaited sequel to the Oscar winning film, Zootopia, is all set to hit the theatres on November 26, 2025. The film is directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard and is produced by Yvett Merino. The film, Zootopia 2 will be bringing back a few loved faces and will also introduce some new faces, which is expected to bring a fresh voice and story to this loved series.
The main duo, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman return for Zootopia 2
Disney has confirmed that the popular duo of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman are all set to reprise their roles as ‘Judy Hopps’ and ‘Nick Wilde’ in Zootopia 2. In April 2024, Ginnifer Goodwin took to her Instagram handle to confirm that she had started recording for the film, Zootopia 2. Along with her, Jason Bateman has also returned as ‘Nick Wilde’.
A couple of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman’s interviews have made the fans excited for the film. In an interview, Ginnifer said that she hopes the sequel features a role reversal, in which ‘Nick’ is the one encouraging ‘Judy’ to continue believing in justice. On the other hand, Jason also shared that ‘Judy’ and ‘Nick’ will now work together as experienced police officers. Their interviews are generating buzz as it shows how far the characters have come from the first film and it adds to the excitement and expectations from the film.
Supporting cast of Zootopia 2
In addition to Ginnifer and Jason, some more familiar faces will be reprising their roles in this fun film, Zootapia 2. Actors like Idris Elba and Shakira return as ‘Chief Bogo’ and ‘Gazelle’ respectively. Shakira is all set to reprise her role, but this time in a new look, song and choreography. Some members from the supporting cast will also be making their comeback, including Nate Torrence as dispatcher, ‘Clawhauser’ and Maurice LaMarche as crime boss, ‘Mr. Big’.
Newcomers joining the cast of Zootopia 2
While a lot of familiar faces are reprising the roles, the sequel introduces a few fresh characters, which will be voiced by talented newcomers. Quinta Brunson plays ‘Dr. Fuzzby’, a friendly therapist leading police counselling sessions to help ‘Judy’ and ‘Nick’. Fortune Feimster voices ‘Nibbles Maplestick’, who is a beaver. Jean Reno also joins as ‘Bushron’, a tough goat police officer, while Ke Huy Quan voices the reptilian figure, ‘Gary De’Snake’. All these actors are expected to bring their own talent and magic in this much awaited sequel.

The film, Zootopia released in 2016, which became a global sensation because of its amazing animation, fun storytelling and powerful social message. Zootopia introduced audiences to a city, where mammals of all kinds live together. It follows ‘Judy Hopps’, a rabbit, who becomes Zootopia‘s first rabbit cop and ‘Nick Wilde’, a fox, who becomes her partner. The first film, Zootopia was a massive success, which earned a total of over 1 billion dollars. The film also won the 2017 Oscars for Best Animated Feature.
