Julie Chrisley claims she developed a lung condition after allegedly being exposed to asbestos and black mold during her time in prison.

The reality TV star — who served just over two years at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. — shared the health update on Wednesday’s episode of her and her husband Todd’s “Chrisley Confessions 2.0 podcast.”

Todd explained how one of the male inmates being held with him at the same Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Fla., contracted lung health problems after he was allegedly forced to clean “black mold” and “asbestos” inside the facility without proper equipment.

“I’m sure because, listen, I have a lung condition from being in prison,” Julie, 52, claimed, adding that her lung issues were not a result of “doing those things but because of asbestos.”

“Because of the black mold that you were around,” Todd added.

“That’s something that we’re having to address right now,” Todd, 56, said of his wife’s health. “This week, you have a doctor’s appointment with a pulmonary specialist that’s gonna do some tests on you.”

Page Six has reached out to both the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., and Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Fla., where Julie and Todd served their sentences, respectively.

In a statement given to People, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said it would “not comment on the conditions of confinement” for any current or previous inmates being held in their prisons.

But, a spokesperson gave a separate statement to the outlet, saying the “mission of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to operate facilities that are safe, secure, and humane.”

“We take seriously our duty to protect the individuals entrusted in our custody, as well as maintaining the safety of our employees and the community. Humane treatment of the men and women in our custody is a top priority,” the statement closed.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” alums were released from federal prison after being pardoned by President Trump in May. They had served a little over two years of their sentences for fraud and tax evasion.

In her first sighting after her release, many fans couldn’t help but notice Julie also underwent a drastic hair transformation as she dropped her signature blonde hair and let her gray roots grow out.
