“It’s an honor for us to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart,” El Recodo tells Billboard. “We thank God for allowing us to continue doing what we love every day, and grateful for all of those who support us listening to our music and attending our shows; you are inspiration to keep going… uuu!”

Banda El Recodo last landed at the summit on Regional Mexican Airplay almost three years ago, when “El Reemplazo,” with Grupo Firme, ruled for one week in September 2022.

As “No Me Aprovechaste” holds the torch on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart, the Sinaloans join a select group of acts with the most chart-toppers, tying with La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de Rene Camacho for the fourth-most, both with 19 No. 1s.

Here’s a recap of the acts with the most No. 1s on the almost 31-year-old list:

    No. 1s, Artist
    27, Calibre 50
21, Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga
    21, Intocable
19, La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de Rene Camacho
19, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga

“No Me Aprovechaste” advances with 6.2 million audience impressions, a 23% gain from the week prior, earned in the United States in the tracking week ending July 28, according to Luminate.

The song is one of four previously unreleased tracks from Banda El Recodo’s live album En Vivo Desde Japón. The ranchera was composed by Luciano Luna.

Turning Up the ‘Frecuencia’: Dareyes De La Sierra Reach No. 1: Elsewhere on the Latin charts, norteño band Dareyes De La Sierra joins two other regional Mexican groups which have ruled the Hot Regional Mexican Songs chart since its inception in April, as “Frecuencia” jumps 3-1 for its first week atop the Aug. 2-dated list.

“Frecuencia” becomes a chart-topper on the strength of its streaming activity during the July 18-24 tracking week, when it registered 6.8 million official on-demand clicks, up 8% from the week prior.

The José Darey Castro-led group becomes the third act to hit No. 1 on the recently launched Hot Regional Mexican Songs chart, after Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera. Both groups led the April 12-dated inaugural chart with “Me Jalo” (seven consecutive weeks at No. 1). Fuerza Regida then added two other songs: “Marlboro Rojo,” the longest leading at No. 1 track with eight weeks in charge (starting the May 31 ranking), plus one-week ruler “Tu Sancho” (July 7).
