In a laugh-out-loud moment straight out of a comedy script, actor Deepak Dobriyal recently shared a bizarre and hilarious incident from Scotland involving mistaken identities, kilts, and washrooms with Ajay Devgn coming to the rescue — all during a candid “Unfiltered” conversation with the cast of Son of Sardaar 2.

The actor recalled how it all began after they wrapped up a shoot for the day. “So we had just completed the shoot and Ajay bhai made a dinner program for that evening. So he asked me, ‘By when can you be back with us?’. I said, ‘It will take me 2 hours since my hotel was a little far. It will take 1.5-2 hours to go, freshen up and come back’. He said that will be too long and suggested that I go like this with my ‘big skirt’ n all. I said, ‘like this?’ He said yes.”
Wearing a woman’s getup based on his character from Son of Sardaar 2 or as he humorously put it, that he was wearing a “big skirt” — Deepak agreed and continued, “Also, we were actually quiet hungry so I agreed. We had some amazing food although I don’t know what all we ordered.”
However, things took a hilarious turn when nature called. “So, I hadn’t been to the washroom for about 2-3 hours and wanted to go. I just casually asked if I should use the gents’ washroom. And everyone was quite surprised with the question and was like ‘obviously’. And when I was like ‘but..’ everyone realised that this kind of a tense situation (me in that attire using men’s washroom). So Ajay Bhai helped me. He said ‘I’ll go with you’ and ensure that ‘no one will stop you’.”
But the funniest moment came just as Deepak was about to enter the men’s washroom. “As I was about to enter, a woman came out laughing crazily engrossed in her mobile. She was almost shrieking as she said, ‘Oh my God! That’s the gents’ washroom. I didn’t see. I didn’t see. I was on my phone’.”
Mistaking Dobriyal for a woman due to his outfit, the lady did the unexpected. “She was dragging me. She held my hand and took me to the ladies’ washroom. Ajay Bhai was so freaked out and kept holding on to me as he kept calling out to her saying, ‘He’s a boy. He’s a boy’. And the lady fell down laughing. She fell down in the toilet itself”.
Clearly, some on-set stories are too funny to be scripted — and this one might just be the best yet! Son of Sardaar also featuring Mrunal Thakur, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Ravi Kishan, among others is slated to release in cinemas on August 1.
