Marriages are turning into a nightmare for families since incidents of marital crime have been on an all-time high. From murders to forced suicides, people are hesitant to even think about what was once a beautiful bond. Unfortunately, their fear was confirmed yet again after a shocking incident from Baghpat came to light.
Uttar Pradesh man was burnt alive by his wife and her lover
A horrifying incident has come to light in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. A man who was identified as Sunny was allegedly burnt alive by his wife, Ankita and her lover, Dr. Ayub. The news has sent shockwaves through the entire region. According to Sunny’s family, he was kidnapped by his in-laws and his wife, Ankita’s lover, Dr. Ayub. His family revealed that Ankita’s family brutally assaulted Sunny and then set him on fire after dousing him in petrol.
According to the reports, Sunny was initially admitted to a hospital in Meerut and later transferred to Delhi for advanced treatment. Unfortunately, despite the doctor’s efforts, Sunny succumbed to his injuries days after the incident on July 27, 2025. The report revealed that Sunny was attacked on July 22, 2025. However, what makes the crime even more tragic is that despite the complaint by Sunny’s family, police have not made any arrests so far.
Sunny’s family refuse to cremate his body till the police make the arrest
According to reports, the delay in the arrest has angered Sunny’s grieving family and the local community. Desperate for justice, the victim’s family has come down to take some serious steps. It was revealed that the family has shown their dismay about what happened to their loved one by refusing to cremate Sunny’s mortal remains. They have also organised a sit-in demonstration outside the local police station. The family has asserted that until the accused are arrested, they won’t cremate the victim.

The Sunny murder case has reopened wounds for several grieving families
Sunny’s murder has reopened the wounds that time had hardly filled for several families. The protest is not just about Sunny but for every man who has lost his life to illicit affairs turning into murder traps. The incidents have raised concerns about the safety of men and women in marriage and urged law enforcement to pay attention to the gender-neutral domestic violence going unrecognised or unaddressed.

The case has also brought attention to an uncomfortable reality about society. This is a testament that the holy institution of marriage has now become a topic of fear and uncertainty. While some have raised concerns about the violence against men in intimate relationships, which is often overlooked due to societal biases, others have used this rise in cases to shed light on the quiet death women have been facing for ages. Unfortunately, Sunny’s death is not an isolated tragedy; it’s a grim reminder that abuse in domestic settings can affect anyone, regardless of gender.
