Starring two debutants, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, Saiyaara has gained immense praise and has also collected huge box office earnings. As the frenzy of the film takes over the public, it is unimaginable that any other actor and actress could be ‘Krish’ and ‘Vaani’ than the two newcomers. However, reports suggest that the makers had first approached the real-life couple, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, to essay these two characters for the newly released Mohit Suri-directed Saiyaara.

In earlier interviews, Mohit Suri, director of Saiyaara, had admitted that he wanted to cast well-known and established actors in the film. However, producer, Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films suggested casting fresh faces for Saiyaara. Mohit Suri stated that the producer had agreed to invest in newcomers. A recent NDTV report has suggested that before looking for new faces, beloved real-life Bollywood couple, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, had been approached for the lead roles of Saiyaara. However, this could not pan out for undisclosed reasons.

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra’s pairing was loved in the 2021 movie, Shershaah. As their chemistry sizzled on the screens, dating rumours soon circulated about them.
