Rufus Sewell, Louis Partridge, Fiona Shaw, and Daryl McCormack are among the big U.K. names to have joined the cast of Netflix‘s Pride and Prejudice series.
Production is now underway in the U.K., the streamer said, with Everything I Know About Love producer-writer Dolly Alderton attached. Directed by Heartstopper‘s Euros Lyn, the series will be a “faithful, classic adaptation” of the novel, Netflix added.
The platform also offered up a first look of the Bennet sisters on Tuesday.
Sewell (The Diplomat, Scoop) will star as the beloved Mr Bennet with Partridge (Disclaimer, Enola Holmes) playing Mr Darcy’s nemesis, Mr Wickham. Harry Potter star Shaw will play Lady Catherine de Bourg and McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) has been cast as Mr Bingley.

Elsewhere, Barbie‘s Jamie Demetriou is Mr Collins, Freya Mavor (Industry) is Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) is Lydia Bennet and Black Mirror‘s Siena Killy is playing Caroline Bingley. Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery make their screen debuts as Mary and Kitty Bennet, respectively.
Rufus Sewell will star as the beloved Mr Bennet. The Bennet sisterhood will feature Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet alongside Heartstopper alumnus Rhea Norwood, as Lydia and newcomers Hollie Avery and Hopey Parish in their debut roles of Kitty and Mary. Louis Partridge will take on Mr Darcy’s nemesis, Mr Wickham with Jamie Demetriou turning his hand to the pompous Mr Collins and Fiona Shaw as the fearsome Lady Catherine de Bourg.
They star alongside the previously announced Olivia Colman, Jack Lowden and Emma Corrin.
Also joining the cast is Anjana Vasan as Mrs Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto as Mr Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero as Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber as Mrs Hurst, James Dryden as Mr Hurst, Justin Edwards as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb as Harriet Forster and Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy.
