Kriti Kharbanda reveals she was the ‘least paid’ actor in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana; says, “I worked the hardest and I was paid the lowest”
While promoting her recent role as Alia Oberoi in Rana Naidu Season 2, Kriti reflected on her experience working in Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, calling it her most cherished project to date. In a candid conversation with Nayandeep, she shared, “I like to work with people who believe in teamwork. I felt that for the first time while shooting for Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. Everyone keeps asking me why that’s my favourite film—my favourite working experience—and it’s because I worked the hardest, and I was paid the lowest. In my entire career, that’s the lowest I’ve ever been paid.”
Despite the limited remuneration, Kriti made it clear that the experience was far more valuable than any pay check. “But I didn’t even argue about the money, because this was the film I truly wanted to do. When I went for the audition of Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, I performed just one scene, and that one scene spoke to me. Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana was the magic of teamwork, and every single person deserves full credit for it. I’m still waiting to feel that same energy again on set.”
Kriti’s remarks highlight the significance of creative connection and collaborative energy in filmmaking. Her reflections also underline the often-unseen emotional investment actors bring to roles that resonate deeply with them.
Speaking of Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, the film featured Rajkummar Rao as the male lead along with K. K. Raina, Alka Amin, Vipin Sharma, Govind Namdev, Navni Parihar, Nayani Dixit, and Manoj Pahwa in key roles.
