A first look at Emily Blunt‘s character in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” was revealed on Tuesday, and her costume is channeling Madonna.
The actress was spotted on set in New York City, wearing sunglasses, a bag and a shirt courtesy of Dior, with a pin-striped corset and trousers by Jean Paul Gaultier. Her look was finished with a bustier by Wiederhoeft.

Blunt’s look resembles one of the costumes designed by Gaultier for Madonna’s “MDNA Tour” from 2012. Madonna is a close friend of the designer, who is credited for creating her now-iconic cone bra look for her 1990 “Blond Ambition” tour. She also collaborated with Gaultier in 2024 for her “Celebration” tour.

Blunt’s look is also reminiscent of a pinstripe-suited costume she wore as Emily Charlton in the 2006 film “The Devil Wears Prada,” featuring Y2K inspiration. The original costume was accessorized with bold sunglasses and a black bag courtesy of Dior as well.
To film the sequel, Blunt’s hair returned to the chestnut red tone she sported in the original film adaptation of the 2003 novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger.

For the last several days, original cast members from “The Devil Wears Prada” descended on New York City for production of the film’s sequel. Thus far, stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway were spotted filming, along with Stanley Tucci. Costumes for the film, curated by Emmy Award-winner Molly Rogers, feature such designers as Gabriela Hearst, Paris Texas, archival Jean Paul Gaultier and more.

Hathaway previously spoke with WWD about her time filming “The Devil Wears Prada,” which catapulted the Oscar-winner to the front row of fashion week following the film’s release in 2006. “I was so beautifully cared for on both of those films,” Hathaway told WWD in December 2024, referencing “The Devil Wears Prada” and “The Princess Diaries.”
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” follows Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she takes on former assistant and now-executive rival Emily Charlton (Blunt) as they compete for revenue in a changing media landscape. The film is slated to debut in May 2026.
