Doja Cat is making fun of Sydney Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle “Great Jeans” ad campaign.
The “Get Into It” rapper posted a TikTok video of herself reciting Sweeney’s now-infamous genes monologue with an exaggerated backwoods Southern accent.
“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue,” Doja said dramatically in the clip while sneering.
Commenters on the post were amused by Doja, 29, mocking Sweeney, 27.
“U know its bad when even doja makes fun of it,” one user wrote with a crying emoji.
“Never thought id see the day where doja cat makes fun of sydney sweeney but here we are,” another wrote.
Sweeney’s new American Eagle ad campaign has been widely criticized for allegedly promoting “Nazi propaganda” by being a “racialized dog whistle” praising blond hair and blue eyes.
The ad is a play on the words “genes” and “jeans,” with the tagline: “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.”
“When those traits are consistently uplifted as genetic excellence, we know where this leads,” one TikTokker argued.
“This just echoes pseudoscientific language of racial superiority. All throughout history, those traits have been weaponized to uphold a racial hierarchy,” the user added.
Others expressed their anger and disapproval in the comments section of American Eagle’s Instagram posts promoting the campaign.
“Jesus Christ – this is such a f–ked up campaign,” one person commented, while another claimed: “It’s giving ‘Subtle 1930s Germany.’”
For the photo shoot accompanying the ad, the “Euphoria” star rocked a denim jacket — with nothing underneath — and blue jeans.
More shots included her showing off her midriff in a white T-shirt tied up into a crop top with baggy denim.
Page Six has reached out to American Eagle and a rep for Sweeney for comment but has not heard back.
