Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep stepped back into character on the New York City set of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” on Monday, continuing a sharp-footed run of costuming built around intentional heel work.
Hathaway wore the Andres pump by Gabriela Hearst, handwoven in navy multi goat leather. The upper curved into a pointed toe with visible depth in the weave, while a short gold cylinder heel added shine without pulling focus. The silhouette’s structure stayed soft, like many mesh or woven shoes currently on trend.

She styled the heels with a pleated midi skirt in washed olive, detailed with oversized flap pockets. A crisp white button-down was rolled at the sleeves and half-tucked to show the waist. A navy crossbody strap, black sunglasses and layered gold jewelry completed the look. It was sharp but wearable — farther off from her earlier Chanel slides, but more in line with her sculptural in-season Prada pumps seen last week.

Streep, who was filming with Stanley Tucci reprising his role as Nigel, wore a thick block heel pump in cool gray leather. The toe was squared off, the heel sharply pitched and slightly flared. A hidden platform raised the profile just above neutral. The mirrored interior added structure at the base.

Her look was monochrome: wide-leg gray trousers cropped at the ankle, a matching jacket worn open over a tucked T and a slim black belt at the waist. A navy clutch, stacked jewelry and Jimmy Choo Solene sunglasses kept everything tight. Compared to her last appearance in red Jacquemus stilettos, the heel felt heavier — visually and physically.

Costume designer Patricia Field continues to use footwear as a framing tool. The decisions aren’t just about styling — they’re about pace, tone and character stance. And in a film where everyone already knows who’s wearing the clothes, the shoes are carrying something else.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is set to premiere in May 2026. Hathaway, Streep, and Emily Blunt return alongside newcomers Lucy Liu, Simone Ashley and Justin Theroux. Filming continues this week in Manhattan.
