Well, it has been a long wait for Anushka Sharma to make her Bollywood comeback with the highly touted sports drama movie, Chakda Xpress. There has been radio silence over the release of the movie as fans are highly anticipating for the same. Now, ace actor, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who has an in-depth role with the actress in the film, shared how special the biopic is for the team. He also gave details on whether the movie has been shelved or not.

Dibyendu sat down for a conversation with News 18 and shared of being confused as the audience. This is because he is also waiting for the release of Chakda Xpress, just like the fans. It has now been over two years since Chakda Xpress was announced, and Anushka’s fans were waiting to see her return on the big screen. For the unversed, the film is based on the life of cricketer, Jhulan Goswami and ever since the makers announced the movie, there has been buzz, but now there is radio silence. Dibyendu called it the finest performance of Anushka, and speaking about the release date, shared:
“It is the best performance of Anushka Sharma to date. I don’t know why they are not releasing it. It’s a really, really fantastic film.”
Dibyendu Bhattacharya is desperately waiting for the release of Chakda Xpress
Fans are continuing to wait for the release of Chakda Xpress, and even those who have been a part of the project are also becoming restless. Dibyendu is also puzzled over the delay of Chakda Xpress and does not know when the biopic will see the light of day. However, he is hopeful that the film will be released soon and shared that he cannot wait for the release of the movie. In his words:
“You don’t know how badly I’m waiting for the film to release because it is a fantastic film. I always tell people… I watched it at Prosit’s [director Prosit Roy] place. I told him, ‘It’s not releasing, but since you have it, at least show it to me.’ He said it wasn’t completely finished, not everything had been done, but I watched it and… it is such a beautiful film.”
When Dibyendu was further asked if Chakda Xpress was shelved or postponed, he admitted to being kept in the dark. The actor shared that he had no idea, and if he had any information about the film, he would have shared it. In the end, the actor shared that he wants Chakda Xpress to be released immediately and knows it is Anushka’s best performance to date. He had already declared the movie as a fantastic one. However, he is also worried as everyone has emotionally invested in the movie. He shared:
“As an actor, I really want the film to see the light of day. A lot of hard work goes into making a film. From the day research begins to the final print, it’s a long and emotionally invested journey. So many people are involved. So many ambitions ride on one film. Many families run on the income generated through it – technicians, daily wage workers. It’s very sad.”
