Veteran actor Anupam Kher, on Saturday (July 27), shared a heartfelt moment on social media after meeting Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, a decorated officer in the Indian Army. Taking to Instagram, Kher posted a photograph of the two holding his recently released self-help book Different But No Less, along with a caption that celebrated the officer’s courage and dignity.

Col. Sofiya Qureshi is a trailblazer in the Indian Armed Forces, known for becoming the first woman to lead an Indian contingent in a United Nations peacekeeping mission. Most recently, she drew national attention for her composed and commanding presence during press briefings in the wake of the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict, where she served as a key spokesperson.
In the image shared, Anupam Kher can be seen smiling warmly alongside Col. Qureshi, as they hold up a copy of Different But No Less, a book aimed at inspiring self-belief and resilience through personal stories and life lessons.
Speaking of the professional front, Kher recently made headlines for his second directorial venture, Tanvi The Great. The film follows the inspirational journey of a young autistic woman determined to fulfil her late father’s dream of saluting the Indian flag at Siachen. Inspired by true events, the film stars Shubhangi Dutt in a breakout role, supported by Pallavi Joshi, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, and Arvind Swamy.
