Zee TV is set to launch a new non-fiction show, Kahaani Har Ghar Ki, aimed at giving Indian women a platform to openly share their untold personal stories. Marking the return of actress Juhi Parmar to the small screen after a five-year hiatus, the show is designed to create a safe, empathetic environment for real-life conversations on topics often left unspoken within households.
Juhi Parmar returns to TV With Kahaani Har Ghar Ki; aims to bring forth women’s real stories
Over the years, Zee TV has led innovation in India’s non-fiction space through popular formats like Antakshari, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Dance India Dance, and India’s Best Dramebaaz. As part of its refreshed identity under the banner Aapka Apna ZEE, the network now turns toward a more introspective and emotionally grounded format with Kahaani Har Ghar Ki.
The show will spotlight individual stories of women from across India, addressing subjects such as emotional neglect, marital struggles, social conditioning, and professional sacrifices. Each episode will feature one woman’s narrative, supported by mental health experts, psychologists, and occasional celebrity guests who offer insight and guidance.
Juhi Parmar, who will host the show, brings both familiarity and sensitivity to the format. On her return, she shared, “Coming back to Zee TV really does feel like coming home. With Kahaani Har Ghar Ki, it’s not just about returning to television as a host — it’s about reconnecting with people as ‘Aapki Juhi.’ I’m here to listen, to understand, and to walk alongside women as they share their stories. This show isn’t just another project for me; it means something deeper. I’ve always believed in uplifting women, and while I’ve tried doing that through social media, this gives me a chance to do it on a much more personal level.”
Speaking about her preparation for the show, she added, “I’ve been part of workshops that are helping me connect with the heart of the show. It’s been a journey of unlearning and relearning, to be more open, more empathetic, and just truly present. This isn’t about being perfect or dramatic, it’s about being real. For every woman who’s felt like her voice doesn’t matter, we’re here to remind her it does. I’m honestly so grateful to be part of something that’s not just about storytelling, but about starting conversations that can heal and empower.”
Produced by Zee Studios, Kahaani Har Ghar Ki positions itself as a show rooted in relatability and emotional truth. It aims to challenge long-held taboos and social stereotypes while enabling more open discussions within Indian households. The premiere date is yet to be announced but the show will air exclusively on Zee TV.
