Yash Dayal, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer, faces a serious new allegation of rape. An FIR has been registered against him at the Sanganer police station in Jaipur, with the victim accusing the cricketer of repeatedly raping her over a period of two years while emotionally blackmailing her and luring her with promises of a cricketing career.

According to the complaint, the victim first came into contact with Dayal when she was a minor, just 17 years old, during an IPL match in Jaipur. Dayal allegedly invited her to a hotel in Sitapura under the guise of offering career advice, where the first sexual assault took place.

The victim claims that this pattern continued for two years, beginning when she was still a minor, which has led the police to register the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a stringent law against sexual crimes involving minors.

    Yash Dayal’s previous harassment case

Earlier this year, Dayal was booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after a woman from Ghaziabad accused him of sexual harassment and exploitation. The FIR was registered at Indirapuram police station following a preliminary inquiry into a complaint filed through the Chief Minister’s grievance portal (IGRS).

According to the complaint, the woman claimed she was in a five-year relationship with Dayal, during which he allegedly exploited her mentally, physically, and financially under the false promise of marriage.

She stated that Dayal introduced her to his family and acted as though they were married, which deepened her trust. However, when she questioned his intentions, he allegedly became violent and continued to harass her.

On Tuesday, the Allahabad High Court stayed Dayal’s arrest in connection with the FIR. A bench comprising Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar issued the stay while hearing Dayal’s petition challenging the FIR. The court directed the state counsel to file a counter affidavit and issued notices to the complainant to submit her response.
