Saiyami Kher has made history as the first and only Indian actor to complete the Ironman 70.3 triathlon twice in a single year. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, she spoke about her upcoming projects and her debut in the Malayalam film industry.
EXCLUSIVE: Saiyami Kher opens up about her Malayalam debut with Roshan Mathew: “I’ve always really liked Malayalam cinema…”
Saiyami is making her Malayalam debut with actor Roshan Mathew, a project that holds both personal and professional significance for her. Talking about what drew her to the film and the South Indian film space, she said, “I’m doing more of a cameo in that film. It was a project Roshan was working on, and they’re wonderful filmmakers. I’ve always really liked Malayalam cinema, and I’d love to do a proper, full-fledged Malayalam film someday because I genuinely admire the work they do.”
She added, “It’s the kind of cinema I enjoy watching the most, their stories are so original and always bring something new to the table. They’re constantly reinventing the wheel. I truly hope I get to do many more full-fledged roles in the future. Also, Roshan is a very, very dear friend of mine. He called me for this one, and since he’s such a close friend, I was just really happy to get back on set with him.”
When asked about her upcoming Hindi projects, Saiyami shared, “I’m supposed to be part of three productions. I’m set to start a film at the end of August, but unfortunately, the producers haven’t announced it yet, so I’m just waiting for the official word from them. That shoot is expected to run from mid-August to mid-October.”
Saiyami added, “Then, in November, I’ll be training and prepping for another film that’s scheduled to begin that month. So, fingers crossed for all of them!”
On the work front, Saiyami is currently seen in Special Ops Season 2, where she reunited with Neeraj Pandey and Kay Kay Menon. Prior to this, she appeared in Agni alongside Pratik Gandhi.
