Dick Clark Productions has named Mike Chuthakieo as the company’s first-ever chief commercial officer, the company announced on Friday.

In the new role, Chuthakieo will oversee all commercial strategy and revenue generation for the brand and its programs, which include the Golden Globes, Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest, the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards. Chuthakieo will be based out of Los Angeles and will report to Dick Clark Productions CEO Jay Penske.

“Mike brings a wealth of expertise in accelerating business growth for iconic brands and forging groundbreaking, innovative partnerships,” Penske said in a statement. “His broad experience across a diverse range of platforms makes him a key addition to our team and the ideal leader to help guide our next phase of global expansion.”

Chuthakieo joins DCP from record label 88rising, where he was chief revenue officer and oversaw sponsorship and monetization strategy for the company’s music projects including its popular Head in the Clouds music festival. Before 88rising, he also held roles at Pinterest, Pandora and MySpace.

Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, the joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.
