    No names from HC collegiums for 52% of vacancies: Government | India News – Times of India

    NEW DELHI: Against a vacancy of 371 judges across high courts, HC collegiums have not made any recommendation for 193 posts, which is more than 52% of the total vacancy, law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Thursday said replying to a question in Rajya Sabha on the pendency of SC collegium recommendations for appointment of judges to high courts. He was responding to a question raised by leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, who asked the minister to provide details of recommendations made by the SC collegium that are pending and the duration of such pendency. The question came in the context of a recent SC observations regarding the need for the government to clear its recommendations.
