Nike started the Elite Youth Basketball League in 2010, and each year it laces up the players with exclusive sneakers suited to draw envy among collectors. Some pairs can command thousands of dollars on the resale market, and another may soon join them with the emergence of a particularly adventurous take on the Air Jordan 3.
The Air Jordan 3 “EYBL” was made for the 2025 season and has been shown for the first time through a sample obtained by the reseller known as Ayden Snkrs. It makes use of a marbled print similar to that used on other EYBL sneakers from recent years, including the 2022 Air Jordan 1 Low, as well as the Nike LeBron 20 and Ja 1 from 2023. Spiritually, however, it feels closer to the tie-dye Kobe 5 Protro and KD 13 duo from 2023.
A purple and red print appears beneath transparent rubber for the mustache and outsole and gets more straightforward applications to the heel stabilizer and insole. The rest of the sneaker is rendered primarily in white and cream to allow the swirling colors to stand out, with the latter shade dressing elephant print-less paneling at the toe and heel. Additional bursts of violet come via the eyelets and laces, while both the right mustache and insole feature the EYBL logo rather than the Jumpman.
Air Jordans figure into the annual EYBL slate with less frequency than their Nike counterparts, and the lack of precedence for such a funky Air Jordan 3 should serve to increase its appeal even further.
Unfortunately, the Air Jordan 3 “EYBL” is all but guaranteed to never release to the public. A few pairs may make their way to the resale market, however, with premium fees.
