In an exclusive quote to WWD, J.Crew Creative Director and Head of Women’s Design, Olympia Gayot, shared an inside look at the making of the collection: “Jeanne and I met through friends, although I had followed her work for years and the collaboration became a very organic and inspiring process. I loved being inspired by some of my favorite French girls, and Jeanne for New York. We put everything on a board — some of our favorite film stills, collected images — and pulled together something that embodied both of our brands’ DNA. From there, we both sketched and developed a collection: a sort of ‘summer in New York in the ’90s meets Sunday flea markets in Paris.’”

The ‘From Paris to New York’ collection features 18 pieces ranging in price from $39.50 – $398, which will be exclusively available to shop at J.Crew and Rouje. Fusing Rouje’s romantic, vintage-inspired aesthetic with J.Crew’s quintessential cool East coast style, the capsule is full of effortless summer wardrobe essentials. Standouts include a polka dot wrap dress that taps into one of the season’s standout prints, a delicate knit tank and skirt set that oozes French girl style, and red mule heels that deliver the perfect dose of early-aughts nostalgia. But the collection also showcases what New York and Parisian style do best: streamlined minimalism.
