For Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2, the iconic duo of ‘Mihir’ and ‘Tulsi’ will be seen on screens again. Both Amar Upadhyay and Smriti Irani, who played these roles respectively, are coming back to reprise their characters in the show. However, not all of the well-loved star cast will be seen in the reboot, reprising their roles, because some of these characters were killed on-screen or their storylines came to an end in Season 1. Here’s a list of all those actors and actresses who won’t be making a comeback for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2.
‘Baa’ won’t be seen in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2
‘Baa’ was the old and wise matriarch of the ‘Virani family’. She was the grandmother of ‘Mihir Virani’, who lived long enough to see her great-great-grandchildren in the show. Essayed by veteran actress, Sudha Shivpuri, ‘Baa’s character and her miraculous immortality became a subject of jokes when Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 1 was airing on TVs. ‘Baa’ was such an integral part of the show that her character was killed off only a few episodes before the last one in 2008. Unfortunately, in real life, the veteran actress died at the age of 77 in 2015. Hence, ‘Baa’ won’t be seen in the reboot.
‘Ansh Virani’ won’t be making a comeback for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2
‘Ansh Gujral/ Virani’ was the younger son of ‘Tulsi’ and ‘Mihir’, but he was the complete opposite of the idealistic and sanskari ‘Virani family’. Even though he was ‘Tulsi’s son, he wreaked havoc in everyone’s lives and the character died at hands of his own mother. So, the character of ‘Ansh Virani’ would not be making a comeback, even though Ekta Kapoor is known to revive dead characters in her shows. Akashdeep Saigal, who played ‘Ansh’, also portrayed his son, ‘Ekalavya’. But the actor is reportedly not making a comeback as either of these roles.
‘Savita Virani’ would not be seen in the reboot
‘Savita Virani’ was the mother-in-law of ‘Tulsi’ and was played by Apara Mehta. This character was lauded as one of the strongest, giving courage to even ‘Tulsi’ whenever she broke down in the midst of her struggles. ‘Savita’, as a very supportive mother-in-law, also broke all the previous saas-bahu stereotypes of TV serials. However, one of the most shocking episodes in the show was when ‘Savita’ asked ‘Tulsi’ to turn off her ventilator. Hence, this character also died in season one and won’t be making a comeback for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2.
‘Gautam Virani’ won’t be making a comeback for season 2 of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
‘Gautam Virani’ was the oldest son of ‘Mihir’ and ‘Tulsi’. Nicknamed ‘Gomzi’, this character was played by Sumeet Sachdev, and was one of the most important characters of the show initially. He even had his own independent storyline. However, later as the story shifted focus, ‘Gomzi’s storyline was reduced, and he was made a side character in the show. Moreover, the new promo for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2 shows ‘Tulsi’ lovingly holding a jacket embroidered with the name ‘Gomzi’. She gently caresses the name on the jacket. People are assuming by this gesture that for the reboot, ‘Gomzi’s character has been killed off.
‘Payal’ won’t be the vamp for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2
Before ‘Mihir’ fell in love with ‘Tulsi’ and married her, he was engaged to the arrogant socialite, ‘Payal’. As a result of being humiliated by the broken engagement, ‘Payal’ continuously conspires to destroy ‘Mihir’ and ‘Tulsi’s lives and bring down the entire ‘Virani khandan‘. This role was essayed by Jaya Bhattacharya, and is still remembered as one of the most intense vamps in Indian serials. However, according to reports, Jaya won’t be making a comeback for the second season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
