After winning the match, the player appeared for a post-match interview with Australian tennis legend, Rennae Stubbs, where she was asked about the impact Andrea Preti has made on her life. According to the clip shared on X later that day, she stated:
“My fiance is here. He really encouraged me to keep playing. There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and, kind of, chill.”
In the same conversation, Venus Williams lightheartedly joked as she asked Rennae Stubbs if she knew how hard playing tennis was. She added that people often don’t realise the amount of effort that goes into the game. She revealed how Andrea Preti encouraged her to get back on the court and stated:

Lifting weights and just, like, dying, and then you repeat it the next day. He encouraged me to get through this, and it’s wonderful to be here.”
