For Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2, the iconic duo of ‘Mihir’ and ‘Tulsi’ will be seen on screens again. Both Amar Upadhyay and Smriti Irani, who played these roles respectively, are coming back to reprise their characters in the show. However, along with these OG stars, names of new actors and actresses have been added to the starcast of the reboot. These faces which were not seen in the first season will bring fresh story to the nostalgic show. Here’s the list of the new starcast and what roles they will be playing in the upcoming series.
Shagun Sharma in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2
Shagun Sharma, who was seen in shows like Harphoul Mohini, Ishk Par Zor Nahi and Yeh Hain Chahatein, among others, will portray the role of ‘Pari Virani’ in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2. ‘Pari Virani’ is the daughter of ‘Tulsi’ and ‘Mihir Virani’. Shagun had played the lead role in the second season of another popular Indian serial, Sasural Genda Phool.
Rohit Suchanti as ‘Angad Virani’
Rohit Suchanti is a popular face of the Indian TV industry. He first made a name for himself in the show, Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, where he played the lead opposite Tejasswi Prakash. Rohit was then seen on the reality TV show Bigg Boss 12. The actor has also appeared in another Ekta Kapoor show, Bhagya Lakshmi. Now, Rohit will essay the role of ‘Angad Virani’, son of ‘Tulsi’ and ‘Mihir, and ‘Pari’s brother in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2.
Aman Gandhi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi reboot
Aman Gandhi, who was Rohit Suchanti’s co-star in the Ekta Kapoor-produced show Bhagya Lakshmi, will also be seen in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2. He will be playing the role of Rohit and Shagun’s on-screen brother, ‘Hrithik Virani’. Hence, he is going to be the second son of ‘Mihir’ and ‘Tulsi’. Apart from Bhagya Lakshmi, Aman was also seen in Naagin, another show of Ekta Kapoor.
The ‘Patels’ in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2
Three new characters, unrelated to the main ‘Virani family’, will be introduced in the upcoming show. These characters are, ‘Vrinda Patel’, ‘Vardaan Patel’, and ‘Anandi Patel’. Popular TV stars, Tanisha Mehta, Ankit Bhatia and Prachi Singh will respectively play these characters. As per reports, ‘Vrinda’ is going to be the love interest of ‘Angad Virani’.
Though no other information is available on the characters, due to their same surnames and similar names, people are deducing that these three might be siblings in the show. Additionally, all these characters might also be the respective love interests of the three ‘Virani’ siblings. With ‘Vrinda’ and ‘Angad’ reportedly paired together, ‘Vardaan’ and ‘Pari’, and ‘Hrithik’ and ‘Anandi’ might also be coupled in the show’s storyline.
Smriti Irani will reunite with co-star Amar Upadhyay for Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
‘Mihir’ and ‘Tulsi’ are one of the most iconic couples ever that graced the Indian TV screens. Amar Upadhyay had left the show mid-way citing clashing dates with other projects. Smriti Irani continued with her portrayal of ‘Tulsi’, but after a point, she left as well. However, both Amar Upadhyay and Smriti Irani are coming back to reprise their roles in the show. Along with them, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Sandeep Baswana, Shilpa Agnihotri and Rakshanda Khan, who were all part of the first season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, will be seen in the reboot as well.
