Bollywood actress, Kajol, has been bold in her thoughts, actions and has always been fearless when it came to speaking up her mind. Whether it is talking about her personal or professional life, she has always stayed honest with her fans. Kajol has been well-raised by her grandparents and parents and is extremely close to her mother, Tanuja. Now, the actress revealed a time when her daughter, Nysa, was six months old, and she took her to Tanuja and started crying.

When Kajol was blessed with her daughter, Nysa, she realised what the meaning of love was and what it meant for her. She told her mother that she had understood the meaning of love and expressed gratitude towards her for being supportive. Kajol, in an interview with the Screen, shared that when she became a mom, she understood the true joy of motherhood, as before that, the actress did not have any realisation related to the same. Kajol further revealed that she always knew that she had a great upbringing. She always knew that Tanuja, her mother, was always great and that she was privileged to have fabulous parents. She realised their worth when she had kids of her own. In her words:
“I don’t think I even realised how much my mother loved me till I had my own child. My daughter was maybe 6 months old, and I brought her to my mom. I cried and said, ‘OMG, I never realised how much you loved me. Thank you for loving me so much. I never imagined how much you did for me.’”

Kajol, earlier in an interview with India Today, opened up about her experience of working with her mom, Tanuja. She shared what she felt when she did movie scenes together with her maa. Kajol shared that her toughest co-star has been her mother, and she found it very challenging to even stand in front of her and remembered shivering. Kajol recalled working with Tanuja in Toonpur Ka Superrhero and shared:
“For the only time in my life, I genuinely felt nervous. I’m not normally a nervous person when it comes to work. I know exactly what I’m doing. I know how to go about it. I know how to concentrate on myself.”

Kajol had the feeling of disorientation; however, she called the experience of working with her mom surreal, standing in front of her mom as well as the camera. Tanuja, on the other hand, was in an archival interview posted by Wilderness Films India Ltd’s YouTube channel. had also shared of feeling awkward playing Kajol’s on-screen mom. Tanuja once shared:
“I was very reluctant to do that by the way. I hate these things where people insist ‘Tanuja ji, you must play the mother’. I feel very awkward in the sense that… Okay so people know that we are mother and daughter but then I don’t get the…”
