Jonathan Anderson will reunite with Luca Guadagnino as the costume designer for the filmmaker’s next picture, “Artificial.” Dior’s creative director of women’s, men’s and haute couture collections confirmed the collaboration via his Instagram Stories on Sunday.
“Very excited to be working with the amazing [Luca Guadagnino],” Anderson wrote on Instagram Story.
“Artificial” is reportedly an AI business comedy. Oscar-nominated actors Andrew Garfield and Yura Borisov are reportedly attached to the project, along with Cooper Koch.

Anderson and Guadagnino previously collaborated on the filmmaker’s 2024 features “Challengers” and “Queer.” The Italian filmmaker and designer also worked together on a short film for Loewe, for which Anderson previously served as creative director prior to his appointment with Dior.
“We think in a similar way, and about similar subjects — the idea of taste, aesthetics — as well as what’s happening in design, visual and decorative arts,” Anderson told WWD of his collaborative relationship with Guadagnino.

“On film, he has an incredible ability to create these quite painterly worlds,” Anderson continued. The designer described his time working on the Daniel Craig vehicle “Queer” as “a life-changing experience for me and such a generous project to work on.”
Much like collections and runway shows, Anderson told WWD that working on a film project is a “kind of theater,” adding, “but it’s about tapping into a character. So it explores a different part of what I would normally do — and collaborating closely with a director also forces me to think and work differently,” he said.
