Jason Momoa turned the “Chief of War” red carpet into a family affair over the weekend, arriving in Hawai‘i with his kids, Lola Iolani and Nakoa-Wolf, in a coordinated palette of earth tones. Their outfits blended traditional elements with modern structure, and their footwear followed suit — understated but intentional, and closely in sync with the event’s cultural focus.
Momoa wore tan leather Chelsea boots, styled with raw-hem black trousers. The boots had a natural grain and a slightly rounded toe, with side zippers barely visible beneath the hem. They weren’t flashy, but they didn’t need to be. Paired with a fur cloak and bone accessories, the boots played a supporting role — subtle, functional and clearly chosen to anchor the more dramatic pieces up top.

Nakoa-Wolf went for a similar silhouette in a deeper oxblood tone. His leather boots featured a more matte finish and a wider toe box, lending a sturdier, almost combat-leaning shape. Worn under printed black pants, his look mirrored his dad’s style.
Lola’s shoes took things in a lighter direction. She wore bronze-toned sandals with two thin straps and a low heel, styled with a chocolate-brown gown. The shoes had a soft metallic finish that added just enough contrast without breaking the earthy palette. Of the three, hers were the most delicate — but still felt connected to the natural tones running through the family’s styling.

Footwear has always played a role in Momoa’s public appearances. At past premieres, he’s worn everything from glossy boots in deep purple to biodegradable styles from his So iLL collaboration. That blend of story, sustainability and utility shows up again here. Even Lola’s choice echoed the metallic tones often worn by Adria Arjona, Momoa’s longtime partner.
“Chief of War,” a historical series centered on pre-colonial Hawai‘i, is a personal project for Momoa, who co-created it and stars in the lead role. Actor Luciane Buchanan posted that the cast was “coming together to honour your kūpuna,” a message Momoa reshared. That throughline carried into their styling. While the bone jewelry and printed fabrics caught the eye, their shoes told a quieter story, grounded in texture and intention.
