    Trump says 5 jets were shot down in India-Pak conflict, claims truce credit again

    US President Donald Trump on Saturday said that approximately four to five jets were shot down during the recent hostilities between India and Pakistan in May. The President did not specify whether these jets belonged to the Indian or Pakistani forces.

    Trump stated, “In fact, planes were being shot out of the air. Five, five, four or five, but I think five jets were shot down actually”. This claim comes amidst his repeated assertions of mediating a ceasefire between the two nuclear-armed countries, citing trade as a point of leverage in the discussions. However, further details regarding the mediation or the specific engagement of jets remain undisclosed.
