A young girl was attacked by stray dogs while she was playing in her locality in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district. The incident was caught on CCTV camera.

The video of the incident showed two stray dogs chasing a girl, believed to be from six to nine-years-old, during daytime in a street of a residential colony.

The footage captures the moment the child trips and falls while trying to flee, after which the dogs continue to attack her. The assault ends only when local residents rush to her aid. The visibly shaken girl could be seen crying and pleading for help.

There was no immediate information about the extent of injuries or wounds sustained by the girl.

The latest dog attack came just two days after another similar incident in the state’s Old Huballi district, where a three-year-old girl was attacked by a pack of street dogs.

The child was reportedly on her way to a nearby shop when the attack occurred.

CCTV footage of the area captured the moment the dogs pounced on the child, biting her on the shoulder, back, arms, and legs, and dragging her along the road.

In another incident reported in Telangana in February 2025, a four-year-old child was attacked by two stray dogs near his house in Hyderabad.

The attack occurred when the child was playing outside on the road in Golden Heights Colony of Rajendranagar area. Reportedly, the two dogs pounced on the child without any provocation.

An alarming rise in disturbing incidents in several parts of the country has raised fresh concerns about animal control and civic negligence.
