Television actress Payal Rohatgi and wrestling star Sangram Singh sparked speculation about a possible rift recently, after the former resigned from her position as director of the Sangram Singh Charitable Foundation. The post, accompanied by the hashtag ‘Ladki hoon lad sakti hoon’, raised eyebrows, and fans worried if a divorce was on the way. However, the very next day, on July 9, 2025, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary, which further raised interest in their personal lives. In a recent interaction, the wrestler dismissed the chatter and opened up on what really happened between the two. 

Sangram Singh clarifies the reason behind Payal’s resignation post

Speaking to Zoom, Sagram Singh opened up on the reason that his wife, Payal, posted that resignation notice on her social media. The wrestler shared that Payal has decided to step back from the position to focus on her startup business. He said:

“Unka (Payal) nature thoda different hai. Voh thodi particular hai. Mujhe agar kuch pata chale ki bewakoof bana raha hai ya bana rahi hai, main has deta hu aur sochta hu banane do agar voh khush hai. Payal ne bola ki yeh professional nahi hai aur mujhe startup pe focus karna hai. Resign karna hai toh kar sakte ho, aapka faisla hai. Resign kiya aur unka nature mujhse thoda different hai toh unhone social media pe daal diya.”

Sangram clarified that Payal’s viral resignation post sparked breakup rumours, even worrying their family and friends. But those fears faded after their anniversary celebration photos, proving that all was well in their relationship. The wrestler shared:

“Jis din anniversary thi, usi raat ko dekha maine aur subah uthke yeh dekhte hai. Gharwale aur doston ko pata nahi media kaise chalti hai. Phir maine photo daala social media pe phir theek hua sab.”

On July 8, 2025, Payal took to Instagram to share an official document announcing her resignation as Director of the Sangram Singh Charitable Foundation, effective immediately, citing personal reasons. She captioned the post, “Sometimes peace looks like distance,” and added the hashtag #LadkiHoonLadSaktiHoon. The statement, paired with her words on needing distance for peace, led fans and followers to speculate that the professional split hinted at personal issues between her and Sangram, sparking separation rumours across social media and online forums.

Sangram Singh talks about divorce buzz with Payal

Speaking to Zoom, the wrestler reflected on the idea of divorce, while also shutting down any further discussion on his relationship with Payal. He has accepted Payal as she is, and he knows that sharing videos and updates makes her happy. Sharing how love sometimes means allowing your partner freedom, even if you don’t always agree, Sangram also encouraged young couples to value perseverance over impulsive decisions. In his words:

“Divorce toh ek minute mein kar loge lekin sahi taakat nibhane mein hai chhodke jaane mein nahi. Main youngsters ko bolna chahunga ki patience toh rakhna padega. Joh genuine couple hai, voh pyaar vyaar se nahi rahenge… Payal ji videos banate hai aur kaafi kuch cheezein karte hai. Record karni hain ahi karni hai voh sab cheezein daal dete hai. Mujhe farak nahi padta kyunki usse voh khush hai.”

Sangram and Payal dated for more than a decade before tying the knot on July 9, 2022. Even after 14 years of togetherness, the couple has been going strong.
