A Delhi man died by suicide by hanging himself after streaming a live video on social media in which he accused his wife of having an extramarital affair and spoke of his own financial troubles. The man, Vikas, also filmed the tragic act, which happened in west Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area.

The footage has gone viral, prompting outrage, with social media users recalling the death of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who took his life after accusing his wife and her relatives of harassment.

Before taking his life, Vikas recorded a video where he accused a man named Shakib of having an affair with his wife. The couple have a four-year-old son.

Vikas claimed that while he himself introduced Shakib to his family, he developed a romantic relationship with his wife. Soon, his wife moved out of their house and started hanging out with Shakib.

He also claimed that he was burdened with heavy debts and the situation severely affected his mental health, prompting him to take the extreme step.

In the video, Vikas accused Shakib of being involved in several cybercrimes. He also said that he loved his wife, contrary to the belief by some people that he tortured her.

Vikas also demanded that after his death, the custody of his four-year-old son be given to his parents. He said his wife did not have a stable income to raise the child properly.

Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Authorities are examining the contents of the video. The body has been sent for postmortem.
