Back in May, Salehe Bembury gave a tantalizing preview of his next New Balance collaboration by showing only the heels of two sneakers during a question-and-answer session. The designer himself hasn’t provided any additional information or imagery since, but a full look at one of the shoes has now leaked.

The Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1000 has been revealed in what would appear to be a forest-themed colorway. Aqua blue serves as the primary color for the upper, while shaggy suede graces the toe tip in forest green to match the midsole. More color bursts throughout the sneaker with shades of red, green and brown, while a translucent “N” logo takes on a green outline. Cork is used for the insole, and a pink hangtag beneath the lateral collar carries Bembury’s full name.

Demand hasn’t been as high for Bembury’s recent New Balance collaborations, as the last three haven’t sold out and can even be found on resale platforms such as StockX for less than retail. Two of them, 991v2 Colors Be the Palette and 1500 Olive Grey, carried particularly high prices because of Made in the U.K. construction at $250 and $275, respectively.

Away from his New Balance collaborations, as well as his Crocs line, Bembury has been expanding his reach. He designed Tyrese Haliburton’s forthcoming signature sneaker debut, the Puma Hali 1, which was revealed during the NBA Finals. Bembury has also frequently teased his own independent sneaker brand and is nearing the release of his Rozzoli-backed book “I Make Shoes” during the fall.

New Balance brought back the 1000, originally launched in 1999, last year and has since worked with some of its key collaborators on the model, including Joe Freshgoods, Aimé Leon Dore and Kith.
