Nearly 45 years after his passing, Bob Marley‘s brand continues to expand.

After releasing an exclusive line of luxury perfumes inspired by the reggae icon’s “one love” philosophy in April and a footwear collaboration with Chaco in June, the Marley family is now aiming to bring his name into the health and beauty markets.

The expansion plans are being overseen by CAA Brand Management, which was chosen by Hope Road Merchandising LLC — the property rights owner for Bob Marley — to represent his brand globally in 2013.

“We plan to strategically expand into new categories that build on the foundation we have created and align naturally with the Marley brand. Health and beauty products in the skin care, hair care and grooming spaces, sourced with natural ingredients from Jamaica, are key areas of focus, which we see as natural extensions to fragrance,” Stephanie Hershman, vice president of CAA Brand Management, told WWD.

The company also sees opportunities in the food and beverage category, drawing inspiration from Jamaican culinary traditions and Marley’s Ital diet, according to Hershman. Marley was famously known for promoting a plant-based, clean diet.

The reggae icon is also remembered for being a vocal advocate for the legalization of cannabis, which could inspire new product collaborations. “We are exploring partnerships in cannabis, CBD, and broader wellness categories that are authentic to Bob Marley’s lifestyle,” Hershman said.

The release date of the upcoming Bob Marley products is currently unknown. Meanwhile, fans can enjoy a branded Marley coffee and tea line made in Jamaica, as well as browse through a line of speakers, headphones and charging accessories by House of Marley.

“Carrying on my father’s legacy is not just about branding — it’s about honoring the spirit of what he stood for and ensuring that spirit lives on in everything we do,” Cedella Marley, chief executive officer of the Bob Marley Group of Companies and Marley’s daughter, told WWD. “As a family, we’re very intentional about how we move. We take our time, find the right partners and make sure every project feels true to who we are and where we come from. It’s not about chasing trends — it’s about staying grounded in our roots while creating things that speak to the next generation in an honest, meaningful way.”

Bob Marley, considered one of the pioneers of reggae, died in 1981 at 36, from melanoma. Through the Bob & Rita Marley Foundation, his family continues his legacy by supporting global reforestation efforts, hosting annual beach cleanups and many other philanthropic projects.

“In 2024, our Marley for Education program awarded scholarships to nearly 400 students across Jamaica, helping families cover school fees, books, uniforms and transportation, in addition to full academic scholarships. We’ve also donated critical medical equipment to the maternity ward at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital,” Cedella said.

And for those who admire Marley’s musical career, “Bob Marley: Hope Road — The Show” will debut at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Friday.

“At the end of the day, everything we do is guided by the message of ‘One Love,’ uplifting each other, strengthening communities and building a future we can all be proud of,” Cedella said.
